Competitions
29th Annual Lancaster County Peace Essay & Video Contest.
All high school students in the county are invited
to participate by writing an original essay or producing a video on the
topic of peace. The purpose of the contest is to encourage students to
creatively express ways to achieve peaceful
solutions to the conflicts in our schools. The theme for the contest
this year is:
Safe Schools Peace By Piece. The Lancaster Friends Meeting (Quakers) began the
Peace Essay Contest in 1981 to encourage young people to think about
peace and peacemaking. Over the years, many local congregations have
organized this nonsectarian contest. Highland Presbyterian
